DISCOVERY; It's 1976, I've got a driver's licence, a new stereo, headphones, yowza! And there's a new Bowie album! Unfortunately I was skint and sceptical. Luckily Paul Berglund (a friend of ours) had secretly become a Bowie fan. He insisted I borrow his copy to test the quality of my new headphones. I agreed. I remember the music from this album having an amazing intricate sound in my headphones. I was most impressed. I was also impressed the class clown was a closet Bowie fan.
The new stereo looked something like this... and the wall behind it... at this point my bedroom was completely covered (including the ceiling) with rock posters, magazine photos and album covers. I even had a blacklight! It was a regular hippy drug den. Only thing missing were the drugs...
WHERE & WHEN; Station To Station was in constant rotation. TVC 15 was the party song. Tony got the album before I did. We completely wore his copy out. By the time I got my own copy we were scary monsters or some such other scary persona... sometimes very scary indeed but that's another story for another time. Station To Station came to the parties.
HIGHLIGHTS; Every note
STATUS; Must Have!
