DISCOVERY; The first Beatles album I wasn't entirely smitten with? Quite so... Lifting the tone arm and placing the needle accurately between songs is a skill young people today have no need of. Then again, when I was lazy, couldn't be bothered, I'd sit through those annoying instrumental pieces which were a bit Les Baxter freaky 50s lounge hair gel and all that.
WHERE & WHEN; I had a handful of 45s, they were cheaper than the LPs and a lot of them had songs on the B side you couldn't get on the LP. I played the Help! single more often than the album. The B side was brilliant!
My copy was an Apple.
Speaking of In The Tyrol. I should mention the film. Saw it once, an afternoon movie, might have been around this time. It was on the television. We were still black n white so I might have been younger. Barely remember it. Later, in the 90s I got Help! and A Hard Days Night on VHS. Watched them with the kids. Part of their education. They liked Help! best so we watched it a few times. It got better each time. A film that improves each time you watch it. That doesn't get mentioned in many reviews.
STATUS; Included in the US Albums box and do not currently have the film.
