DISCOVERY; We're staying at Robert's house for the next few albums. I might be wrong but I think the first "rock" album he bought was by Elton John. Fortunately for you, no Elton John albums survive in the 365 Record Albums Collection. Moving right along, the next album he purchased was this album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. How did Robert come to own this album before I did? I went for the new John Lennon record didn't I? It was for the best as the instructions on the album were quite clear, "to be played at maximum volume" something my woefully inadequate fold-up stereo couldn't cope with but as tested by the Bach album of the previous post, his folk's mighty console stereo was more than able to comply. Glorious it was!
WHERE & WHEN; There was a time when I could quote the entire album from memory. I bet a guy named Lance who I worked with at Honeywell I could do it and won! Loser had to make dinner. Unfortunately that meant going to his house where I was obliged to listen to his favourite album by Chicago. Fortunately for you the Chicago album made no impression on me except to say I didn't like it (insert smiley face emoticon). Also on the positive side, Lance couldn't cook and just ordered pizza.
HIGHLIGHTS; Every note!
