DISCOVERY; You'd have to be living in a cave in 1973 not to be aware Ringo Starr had a new album out, it was everywhere and of course I bought it! Eager to hear the contributions of John, Paul & George. It's almost a Beatles album! Maybe they'll get back together now!?!?!?!

In the alternate universe in which The Beatles got back together to make an album in 1973 (I'm sure someone has done this) Photograph was still a massive hit and the album stayed on the charts for an incredible 65 years...

WHERE & WHEN; I couldn't say anything disparaging about the Ringo album. It's a nice record that hangs together. It's not the kind of album you'd play a lot, perhaps you did at the time, like I did I suppose. Hearing it again after all this time. Yeah, pleasantly surprised. Not terrible, not an embarrassment. In some ways better than the other post-Bealtes albums for '73, just in that Ringo doesn't preach, isn't pretentious, doesn't seem to be stuck on his own genius. Of course I liked all the preachy, pretentious stuck on their own muck the others were generating so for me this was just another post-Beatles gem for the burgeoning collection. I didn't analyse it too much.

HIGHLIGHTS; I'm The Greatest - Photograph - Sunshine Life For Me - Six O'Clock - Devil Woman

STATUS; Must have
