DISCOVERY; Early on in 1974... The occasion was my confirmation, Lutheran church, I had to wear some nice clothes and get my hair cut, have my picture taken, go through the ritual. Afterwords they gave me a party. My cousin Doug DeLong gave me this album and the latest Wings album. He worked for Musicland which had a chain of mainstream oriented record stores. He got a deep discount. That's a good job I thought! There and then working in a record store became a goal. Still is. Working in a record store is a cool job.

WHERE & WHEN; Just prior to this I moved into the basement. The freshly panelled walls needed decoration. Luckily this album came with a massive poster and the four portraits. I also had the white piano poster from Imagine which now found a home. The basement room was pretty cool. I had a fridge, a bar, a phone, a fireplace. I traded all of my Estes rockets to a kid across the street from Eileen in Blaine for a very rustic old guitar amp. I could make noise in the basement and I could play that little portable stereo as loud as it would go. "Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC..."

HIGHLIGHTS; Every note of it wouldn't be too much of a stretch. Getting hold of this album was like the mother lode. Ear candy. A massive suger overload! How could anything ever be more impressive than this album? I don't know. Not possible.

STATUS; 2009 CD and an mp3 copy of the remixed version
