DISCOVERY; Several record shops were (and still are) part of my recurrent dreamscape. Maybe I feel safe in a record shop. Maybe that's why I dream about them? Hard to say and impossible to verify but I would have sworn at the time that I'd seen this record cover in one of my dreamscapes some time before it came out. Thai me why me stuff (happens all the time) dimensional slips inexplicable coincidence curiouser and curiouser.
WHERE & WHEN; 1973 was proving to be that near perfect convergence of enough cash in my pocket and enough time between releases that I could keep up. So I bought Mind Games off the new release rack too but it was another album that made the record player buzz... I could afford the albums but not a new stereo to play them on. In my 13th year I was still a normal kid in some ways. Not every penny devoted to music. Not yet. I liked baseball, collecting baseball cards, building model rockets, riding my bike. Normal stuff like that.
